Gerald Dean Bodrero, from North Logan, Utah, beloved Husband, Father, Grandfather, and Great-Grandfather passed away peacefully at home on March 16, 2024, at the age of 92.

 He was born on November 29, 1931, at his family home in North Logan to his parents Parley L. Bodrero and Iona Lloyd. He was raised on the family farm in North Logan with his siblings where he developed a good work ethic and got in a little (a lot) mischief too. 

He went to grade school in North Logan and then Graduated from South Cache High School. He attended Utah State University before being drafted into the Army in 1953 and served two years during the Korean War. 

After returning home from the war, he met the love of his life Alberta McNeil. They were married on September 21, 1956, in the Logan Temple. Together they raised a family of five children and were married for 67 years. He will be fondly remembered for his witty humor, friendship, dedication, and commitment to his wife, family, and friends. He had a great sense of humor and everyone loved being around him. He always kept us laughing. He "endured it well" and kept cracking jokes all the way to the end.

He worked for Logan City Light and Power Company for 36 years as a Lineman and retired as the Distribution Manager in 1993. He was instrumental in putting underground power in Cache Valley as well as spending many cold winter nights to get the power back on and setting new power poles by helicopter. Gerald was active in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints serving in numerous capacities and also enjoyed serving as an ordinance worker in the Logan Temple.

Gerald had a love for hiking, especially after retiring. He hiked the Wind Caves trail over 200 times as well as many other trails in the valley. When he was young he loved to play football and also watched many games at USU. He attended a lot of sporting events with his buddy Roy Saltern. He was musically gifted with the harmonica, banjo, and guitar which he would play, by request, for the great-grandkids.

He is survived by his loving wife Alberta, his children, Daniel (Suzie) Mesa, AZ, Theresa (Kent) Smithfield UT, Tony (Lori) Mesa, AZ, Bryan (Amy) Kaysville, UT, and Neil (Krista) Providence, UT. He is also survived by 18 grandchildren, 31 great-grandchildren, 3 sisters, Vonna Saxton, Corlee Hunter, Villa Brenchley, and one brother, Jay (Karen) Bodrero. He is preceded in death by his parents and two brothers, Don and Paul Bodrero.

The family would like to sincerely express gratitude towards the Veterans Association for being so helpful, the Fire Department and Dispatch Team for their dedication and help always, ComforCare, and Enhabit Home Health as well as many ward members, neighbors, especially the Higginbothams, and friends over the past couple of years. And a special thanks to Alex Kafton and Cristiane Taylor for their caring and loving service!

A viewing will be held on Friday, March 29, 2024, from 10:00 to 11:30 am followed by a celebration of his life at 12:00 pm at White Pine Funeral Home, 753 S. 100 E. Logan, Utah. He will be laid to rest in the Logan City Cemetery.
