The Fulton Telegraph-1884:

One of the most pleasant of the many social gatherings that have occurred in this city was a masque party at the residence of Colonial Taylor. At ten o'clock the masqueraders unmasked and were invited into the dining room to partake of a superb supper of oysters, cream and cake.

Mr. Earnest Tuttle wore a velvet suit and cap, representing a Turk.

Earnest Nesbit Tuttle, 70, of 331 West 7th Street, Fulton, Missouri, died March 21, 1935 at his home.

Dr. Greene McCall prononced death caused by Pneumonia of Right Upper Lobe and Influenzia. Informant was Warrene Williams, daughter of the deceased.

Earnest was born September 18, 1865, in Callaway County, the son of Warren and Susan C.(Dyer) Tuttle. He married Mary Thamer Hinde and she survives at their home.

Earnest continued the business started by his father, The Tuttle Tobacco Company. The firm was known for natural leaf tobacco and fine cigars. The building was located behind the Fulton Post Office. Earnest was also a stockbroker and insurance agent. He aquired a considerable amount of real estate, including the area between Walnut Street and Westminister Avenue and between 7th Street and West 5th Street in Fulton. Earnest donated the land that houses the Westminister College Faternaties in those areas.

Arrangements were under the direction of Herndon-Taylor Funeral Home in Fulton. Burial was in Hillcrest Cemetary.

Dr. Greene D. McCall, of Fulton, prononced death caused by Pneumonia with Influenzia, right upper lobe, contributed to by Sinusitis. The informant was the wife of the deceased.

Earnest was born February 18, 1865, in Callaway County, the son of Waren and Susan (Dyer) Tuttle. He was united in marriage to Mary Hinde and she survives at their home. Earnest was in the insurance business.

Arrangements were under the direction of Herndon-Taylor in Fulton with burial in Hillcrest Cemetary.
