SWAN C. JOHNSON

Swan C. Johnson, 87, of Charlotte died Feb. 13, 1996, in Lansing. Mr. Johnson was born in Sweden, the son of Oscar and Anna (Linden) Johnson, and came to the United States at the age of one year and had been a Charlotte resident since 1941. He was a farmer and worked for the Eaton Farm Bureau Co-op for 21 years. He was a member of the Gresham United Methodist Church. He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Vivian (Bowles) Johnson; one daughter, Clara (Frank) Perritt of Nashville, Tenn; son in law, Jack Cooper of Eagle; five grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; one brother, Oscar (Myrtle) Johnson of Clarksville; and two sisters, Gertrude Johnson of Clarksville and Edna Clinard of Pinellas Park, Fla. He was preceded in death by one daughter, Regina Cooper, Oct. 30, 1994. Services are Saturday, Feb. 17, at the Burkhead-Green Funeral Chapel, Charlotte, with the Rev. Jeffrey Bowman officiating. Interment will be in the Gresham Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the Gresham United Methodist Church or the charity of one's choice.
