MRS. JACOB AURANDT
At 2:10 o'clock Sunday afternoon, November 29, Mrs. Catherine Susannah Hancuff Aurandt, beloved wife of Jacob Aurandt, died at her home at Beaver Dams, this county, of paralysis, from which disease she had for many months been a patient sufferer. She was aged 66 years, 7 months and 28 days, and was the daughter of John and Elizabeth Hancuff both now deceased. She was born and married in the same house in which she died. On December 21, 1854, she was wedded to Jacob Aurandt, who survives her with the following children: M. Elizabeth, wife of William C. Stewart, of Ganister; Mary Rebecca Aurandt, of Sinking Valley; Henderson Hadley Aurandt, Blanche, wife of S.H. Kephart; Charlotte Estella, wife of Floyd A. Sager all of Altoona; Margaret Annetta and Arvad Adnah Aurandt, at home. Ten grandchildren also survive, while a son and daughter are dead. Two brothers are living: Alfred S. Hancuff, of Canoe Valley, and John Hancuff, of East Freedom. She was a member of the United Brethern church for over fifty-two years and was a loving wife and mother.∼
Mrs. Catharine Aurandt, wife of Jacob Aurandt, died at her home in Beaver Dams at 2:10 p.m., Sunday, of paralysis from which she had been ill several months. She was aged 66 years, 7 months, and 28 days.
Besides her husband she is survived by five daughters and two sons - Mrs. Mary Stewart of Sinking Valley; Mrs. Blanche Kephart and Mrs. Latta Sager and H. H. Aurandt of Altoona; and Miss Maggie and Ariad, at home.
She belonged to the United Brethren Church. The funeral took place from the Lutheran church at Canoe Valley, at 1:30 Monday morning. Interment at Yellow Springs Cemetery.
