Irene Krepak Obituary
Irene Krepak, 97, passed in January after a wonderful life filled with love, family, friends and dancing. Irene was born in Chicago to loving parents Ralph and Milda Greco. She met George, the love of her life, at a Big Band dance after the war and marriage soon followed.
Irene was a gourmet cook and baker, a devoted mother, Girl Scout leader, gardener, wonderful partner and a talented dancer. The family moved to San Diego in 1971 (no more snow!). Irene worked at SDG&E in Engineering Land and Planning and volunteered on the recreational committee where she enjoyed planning company dances and events.
After retirement from SDG&E, she returned to college for fun travel courses (and lifelong friendships) which led to another part-time career with the San Diego Convention and Visitors Bureau.
As a community volunteer, Irene was an active member of the Master Gardeners, CA Rare Fruit Growers, SDG&E Alumni Committee and a board member of Eagle's Wings at the Veterans Museum, providing support and healing for the military widowed.
Irene is survived by her daughter, son, grandson and many friends and family.
We know Irene is happy to be reunited with George and they are dancing in heaven.
Interment 4/24/24 10:30 am at Fort Rosecrans.
