Mrs. Nancy Towers, widow of the late John B. Towers, died at the home of D.F. Allgood in East Oneonta early last Thursday morning. She had been in delicate health for many years but as able to be up. Thursday morning shortly before four o'clock she complained of being cold. A fire was kindled, she got warm and went back to bed saying she was feeling fine. She apparently went to sleep and it was about two hours later that members of the family found that she was dead. Apparently she had not moved after she lay down. The deceased would have been 70 years of age in January. She was a member of the well-known Buckner family and is survived by one brother, Columbus Buckner, of Waxahachie, Texas. The deceased is also survived by three sons, Earle Towers of Trussville, R.L. Towers and Richard Towers of Ketona. The funeral services were held at the residence Friday afternoon and were conducted by Rev. L.T. Fendley. The interment was in Old Liberty Cemetery. Wade in charge.
