Reagan Lanier Clark, 83, of Ventura, California, went home to be with our Lord on Thursday, November 3, 2005, after a courageous battle with a lengthy illness. He was born April 4, 1922, in Dallas, Texas, to Reagan and Vera Clark and had been a Ventura County resident for 30 years, coming from Texas. Reagan proudly served his country in the United States Army Air Corps during World War II and received an honorable discharge on September 2, 1945.

After his service he proceeded to Southern Methodist University and obtained a bachelor's degree in electrical engineering. He worked in the aeronautical engineering field with Ling Tempco Vaught Aerospace Division in Arlington, Texas for most of his career. He was instrumental in the early design and implementation of NASA space craft electrical support systems and many other government-contracted military projects. Upon retiring he found employment with CBC Port Hueneme Naval Base as an electrical engineer with federal civil service and continued to work until his retirement from there in 1991.

Reagan was an avid outdoorsman. He was a member of the Oxnard Rock and Gem Club and enjoyed going on field trips to hunt rocks. He loved camping, hiking, fishing and anything that put him out in nature. He truly enjoyed the world around him. He was a kind and gentle soul who had nothing but a smile and kind words for everyone he met, touching everyone's hearts. He was always willing to help anyone he could if only they asked. His family will remember him always. He will be in our daily thoughts and prayers.

Reagan is survived by his dear wife of 59 years, Anne; two sons; one daughter and three grandchildren. Sleep well and peacefully, our father, until we meet again in the eternal kingdom of God.

A memorial service was held November 7, 2005, at the Ted Mayr Funeral Home in Ventura with the Rev. Dr. Leonard DeWitt officiating. A celebration of Reagan's life followed at the family residence. Donations in Reagan's memory may be sent to the Alzheimer's Association of Ventura County, Camarillo, California.
