James Asbury Turner, age 77, of 191 Tyler Banks Court, Winchester, Kentucky, died at 3:17 p.m. Sunday, August 28, 2005, at the Winchester Centre for Health and Rehabilitation Center, in Winchester. A native of Breathitt County, Kentucky, he was the son of the late Dett and Leona Banks Turner. He was a disabled construction worker and a member of Trinity Church of God.
Survivors include: a son, Freddie Turner, of Winchester; a daughter, Jenny Foster Phillips, of Alabama; two stepdaughters, Mary Garcia and Lisa Hall, both of Winchester; a stepson, Ernest Miller, of Winchester; several grandchildren and step-grandchildren; three brothers, Jerry Taulbee, of Winchester, Raymond Taulbee, of Ford, and Ed Taulbee, of California; a sister, Sara Belle Taulbee, of Winchester; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Graveside services will be conducted at 10:00 a.m. Wednesday at West Bend Cemetery, in Powell County, by Rev. Billy Keller. Pallbearers will be Orville Winkler, Dave Winkler, Ancil Sorrells, Christopher Vance, Sammy Sorrells and Lloyd Griffett. There will be no visitation. Scobee Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements
