Mr. Robert Edward "Eddie" Leaphart, Jr., age 64, passed away Sunday, March 17, 2024. He was born April 27, 1959, in Lancaster, the son of Robert "Bobby" Edward Leaphart, Sr. and Evelyn Adams Leaphart. Eddie enjoyed dirt track racing, fishing, drawing, and going on mission trips. His greatest joy in life was being "Pawpaw" to his grandchildren. He loved spending time with them and attending their sporting events. Eddie was the epitome of an encourager. He always texted and called his family with love and encouragement. To know Eddie was to love him. 

Eddie is survived by his two children, Jason Leaphart (Emily), and Jennifer Heath; his seven grandchildren, Logan Leaphart, Grace Leaphart, Sarah Lynn Leaphart, Cooper Leaphart, Ellie Leaphart, Brayden Carnes, and Brynn Carnes; his parents, Bobby and Evelyn Leaphart; two brothers, Richard Leaphart (Candace), and Jimmy Leaphart (Beth); his sister, Darlene O'Byrne (Michael); and many special family and friends. 

He was preceded in death by his grandson, Alex Drew Leaphart. 

Celebration of Life Funeral Service held on Wednesday, March 20, 2024 at Covenant Baptist Church officiated by Rev. Burt Welch and Pastor Bobby Strother. Burial at Lancaster Memorial Park.

In lieu of flowers, for those who wish, memorials may be made to The Shepherd Center, 2020 Peachtree Road NW, Atlanta, GA 30309 or to Levine Children's Hospital, 1000 Blythe Blvd. Charlotte, NC 28203.
