CHERRYVILLE - Mr. Joe Lee Bridges 73, of 201 Dixie St., Apt. 13, died January 11, 1997 at home.

Funeral is 3 p.m. Monday at Capps Missionary Methodist Church with Rev. Curtis Morris officiating. Burial is in City Memorial Cemetery. Visitation is 7-8:30 p.m. today at Carpenter's Funeral Home and other times the family will be at 309 S. Mulberry St., Cherryville.

Born in Gaston County, he was a son of the late John Bridges. He was a self employed house painter and a U.S. Army veteran of WWII.

Survivors include his sons, Jimmy Bridges of Lincolnton and Carl Bridges of Cherryville; daughters, Cathy Stone, Debbie Bridges and Kim Holtsclaw, all of Cherryville; mother, Junie Moss Bridges of Cherryville; brothers, Richard Bridges of Tega Cay, SC; sisters, Barbara Orphens of St. Cruix and Mattie Jane Brown of Kings Mountain; 11 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren.

Carpenter's Funeral Home is in charge.
