CHARLES WIESE DIES; SICK SEVERAL MONTHS
RESIDENT OF EAST SCRANTON FOR THIRTY-NINE YEARS. RETIRED ERIE RAILROAD COMPANY EMPLOYE.
Charles Wiese, seventy-four, a resident of East Scranton for thirty-nine years, and one of the prominent residents of the city, died last night in his home, 914 Richter avenue, after several months' illness. News of his death, though not unexpected, will be learned with sincere sorrow by a legion of acquaintances and friends throughout the city. Mr. Wiese, an employe of the Erie Railroad Company thirty years, was retired a few years ago.
Mr. Wiese was born in Germany and came to the United States when twenty-one years of age. He resided at South Scranton for about eight years and thirty-night years ago moved to East Scranton where he had since resided. For about two years Mr. Wiese conducted a business at Jessup. He was a member of St. Peter's Lutheran Church.
Mr. Wiese leaves one daughter, Mrs. Emma Lally, of this city; one sister, Mrs. William Stolz, of Jersey City, N. J.; a brother, Leo Wiese, of Hoboken, N. J.; four grandchildren of five great-grandchildren. The funeral will be held Tuesday afternoon from the residence.
