Mrs. Lydia A. Robinson died on Saturday evening, May 23 at the home of her son J. W. Robinson, after an illness of 3 months duration. The last rally was only a week before last, when it was confidently believed she would recover and when Solon Jacobs departed for his home in TN, after coming to see her.

Lydia A. Bates was born in Henderson, Jefferson County, New York 29 Apr 1825 and was married to Isaac Jacobs 22 Feb 1844 and 3 years later moved to Jefferson County, WI. Four children were born to this union, three of whom survive. S. M. Jacobs of Graysville, TN, Ansel Jacobs and Mrs. M. C. Scofield of Fontanelle, IA.

Sometime after the death of her 1st husband she was married to Joseph Robinson (they were married on Oct. 3, 1855 in Jefferson Co., WI.), and to them were born 4 children, two of whom survive, Mrs. L. L. Sherdeman of Lincoln, NE and J. W. Robinson of Fontanelle.

In 1878 they removed to Fontanelle where the deceased continuously resided until the time of her death. The funeral was held from the Congregational Church at 1 p.m., and the remains were laid to rest in the cemetery on the hill.
