Edward Meyers, 69, Jerome, died Thursday, May 4, 1989 at Magic Valley Regional Medical Center following an extended illness.

He was born July 29, 1919 in Monroe, Neb. He moved with his family to Idaho at an early age and spent most of his growing up in Twin Falls. He married Helen Regina Hansen Nov. 9, 1938 and they moved south of Twin Falls to farm. They bought their first farm in 1942 west of Jerome and farmed in the Jerome area until his retirement in 1982. He was an active member of the First Church of God in Jerome.

Surviving are his wife Helen of Jerome; four sons, Merlin and Joyce Meyers of Jerome, Vic and Diane Meyers of Gooding, Lenny and Beverly Meyers of Jerome, and Dwaine and Linda Meyers of Twin Falls; 2 daughters, Mrs. Don "Flora" Bellomy of Boise, and Mrs. Kenneth "Julene" Pearson of Jerome, a brother Edward Meyers of Twin Falls; 3 sisters, Blanche Smith of Emmett, Idaho; Minnie Manley of Mesa, Ariz., and Bessie Wilcox of McCook, Nebr; 21 grandchildren, 8 step grandchildren, 7 great grandchildren, and 11 step great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents and four brothers.

The funeral will be held Monday, 2 p.m. at Reynolds Funeral Chapel. Burial will follow at Sunset Memorial Park. Friends may call at the chapel today from 3 to 8 p.m.. The family suggests that memorial contributions may be given to the First Church of God Youth Group, 131 East Ave. E in Jerome and may be left at Reynolds Funeral Chapel.
