John Belton Latchford Dec. 16, 1934 - July 3, 2009 Beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother and son, John succumbed to cancer on July 3rd at the of age 74. John was born in Houston and lived most of his adult life in Wimberley and Round Rock, Texas. He graduated from, Southwest Texas State in San Marcos with a degree in Chemical Engineering in 1957. John served as a supervisor for the Texas Water Quality Board for many years and retired as a Field Operations Director in Austin in the early '90s. Always an active man, in retirement John was busy on the Round Rock City Planning Commission and served as President and Vice President for the Woods Homeowners Association. John was a man with many passions including hunting, fishing, sports, traveling and landscaping. John loved all of his family, his extended family and even all the pets that always managed to find a way into his lap. John is preceded in death by his parents John Latchford Sr. and Lucille Purdy, and by first wife, Reba Hill Latchford. He is survived by his second wife, Marian Rollins Latchford; son and daugher-in-law, Wayne and Cheryl Latchford; daughter and son- in-law, Lynette and Tim Gold; brother and sister-in-law David and Lana Latchford; grandchildren, Krystal, Chad, Trevor and Garrett; four great grandchildren; three grown stepsons, Steve, Bryan and Robert Rollins; special family friends, Sharon Farris and Nathan Brown, and many other friends and relatives. Visitation will be Wednesday from 5:00 - 7:00 p.m. and a funeral service will be held on Thursday at 1:00 p.m., both taking place at Cook-Walden Capital Parks Funeral Home. 14501 N. IH 35.
