Jacob George Conley was the son of James William George and Elizabeth Ann Iman.

From every census until March 1, 1895 in Balderson, Marshall County, Kansas, he used the family surname of George. From 1895 until his death, Jacob and his family used the surname of Conley. I have not been able to find out when or why the name was changed.

His daughter Lucy used the surname Conley when she married Eli Largent in 1893.

He was married to Mary Elizabeth Sowles from about 1875 until his death on May 02, 1921. They had seven children, two of which died in infancy.

Mary later remarried James Hurlbert, but is buried next to Jacob.

Jacob and Mary were my great great grandparents.
