Alfred Richards, a life long resident of the city, passed away at his residence, 610 Main Street, at 6:45 last night at the age of 73 years. He was born May 18, 1854; was a member of Notre Dame parish and will be buried following a requiem mass service at Notre Dame Friday morning. Interment will be in Notre Dame cemetery.
Mr. Richards was well known and actively engaged in the marine field for over 50 years. Six years ago he retired from active work and had suffered poor health for the past four years.
He is survived by one sister. Mrs. Charles Blondin of Cleveland; four daughters and two sons: Mrs. Frederick Jones of this city; Mrs. Oscar Brassaw of Detroit; Mrs. Aldolphus Dierick of Seattle, Washington; Miss Margaret Richards of New York City; Frank Richards of this city and Charles Richards of Seattle, Wash.
