Norma Nehring, 78, of Raytown, Missouri, formerly of the Red Rock and Perry communities, was the daughter of William Joseph and Alice Josephine (Brashears) Hicks.
She was born February 14, 1929 in Ponca City, Oklahoma and died Saturday, July 28, 2007 at Lee's Summit hospital in Lee's Summit, Missouri.
Norma received her formal education in Ponca City schools. She and Leonard Nehring were married on May 7, 1959 in Newkirk, Oklahoma.
She had been an employee of Kress of Ponca City, Oklahoma. She was a member of the Calvary Baptist Church in Perry and later the First Baptist Church in Raytown, Missouri.
Norma loved crocheting and doing word search and crossword puzzles.
Funeral services will be at 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, August 1, 2007 in the Brown-Dugger Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will be in the Red Rock Cemetery.
Memorials may be made to the Alzheimer's Association or Epilepsy Association in care of Brown-Dugger Funeral Home, 1010 N. 7th Street, Perry, Oklahoma 73077.
Survivors are two sons, Michael Nehring and his wife, Terry, of Raytown, Missouri, and Jerry Nehring, of Perry, Oklahoma; four grandchildren, Cody Nehring, Kattie Nehring and Morgan Nehring, all of Red Rock, Oklahoma and Ian Nehring, of Raytown, Missouri; six step-grandchildren, Matt and Charity Taylor, of Belton, Missouri and Chris, Jeremy, Karalea and Micah Palmer all of Raytown, Missouri; and two step-great-grandchildren, Ryan and Cecelia Taylor, of Belton, Missouri.
Norma was preceded in death by her husband, Leonard, who died on December 16, 1999; her parents, twin sons, six brothers and nine sisters.
