Graveside services for Mrs. Ruby Adams Brandon, 97, of Dublin, will be held Wednesday at 2:30 p.m. at Northview Cemetery. Dr. Jack Key will be the officiating minister. Mrs. Brandon was born in Laurens County July 6, 1908 to the late C. Homer and Minnie Sheffield Adams. Mrs. Brandon lived in Laurens County all of her 97 years and was a devoted member of the First United Methodist Church. During her earlier years she worked with the Cotton Producers of America. Her father and brother were the founders of Adams Funeral Home in 1926 which was located in the downtown section of Dublin and later moved to the present location on Bellevue. Mrs. Brandon worked in the funeral home for many years with her father, her brother Cordy Adams, her sister-in-law, Lois Adams and her nephew, Gerald C. Adams Sr. Mrs. Brandon was predeceased by her husband, Herbert Hayes Brandon; one sister, Ernestine Lord; three brothers, Cordy, Authur and Atys Adams; and a nephew, Gerald C. Adams Sr. She died Sunday evening at Fairview Park Hospital. Mrs. Brandon is survived by two nieces, Beverly Lackey and husband Larry of Warner Robins and Anita Adams Cato and husband Wayne of Matthews, N.C.; one sister-in-law, May Adams of Adel; one niece-in-law, Mrs. Ellen B. Adams of Dublin; several great nieces and nephews and several great-great nieces and nephews. Visitation will be held at Adams Funeral Home Wednesday afternoon from 1 p.m. to 2 p.m. Adams Funeral Home of Dublin is in charge of arrangements.
