Almos Alphonzo Capps was born in Trezevant, Carroll Co, Tn on July 13, 1888. (The date on the gravestone is incorrect). He was the son of William Brown Capps and Mary Viola Eve Parson.

He married 1st Effie D Walker on Nov 11, 1911 in Hopkins Co, Tx. She was the step-daughter of his brother Amos. They had 4 children.

After Effie died, he married Grace Hand about 1922, most likely in Cass Co, Tx. He and Grace had 7 children.
