Born in Broken Bow, Nebraska, on Dec. 25, 1944, he was the second son of George and Corinna Jane Wiebusch. Harold frequently expressed his gratitude for growing up in a small town and for his adventures with his brothers and sisters on the Wiebusch ranch.

Harold attended school in Broken Bow and graduated in 1967 from the University of Nebraska with a degree in accounting. After working several years in the Midwest Harold went to work in New York City for Arthur Young and later Price Waterhouse. His work took him all over the United States, Europe, Africa and the Middle East, handling the tax affairs of Americans living overseas.

Harold and his wife Kathryn(Kitty) of forty-four years, lived in New York City for thirty-five years where they regularly attended the Metropolitan Opera, the New York Philharmonic and Carnegie Hall. Harold also enjoyed the theater in both New York and London.

He belonged to the Wagner Society, the Ellington Society, The Sidney Bechet Society, and Jazz at Lincoln Center. He enjoyed tennis and regularly went to the US Open Tennis Tournament. Harold was treasurer for his Cooperative Apartment building for four years.

Harold played a rigorous squash game, but his greatest love was walking the streets in New York City, where he would often pass his Sundays walking five to ten miles!

In 2009 Harold and Kitty retired to Raleigh. They enjoyed North Carolina, the Smoky Mountains and the many beaches. They became avid flower gardeners and visited many botanical gardens throughout the Carolinas.

Harold was an avid reader often digging deep into a topic by reading several titles, such as Natural Law or the Fall of the Roman Empire. He also enjoyed spy novels and mysteries.

Harold sang in the Saint Andrew the Apostle choir, participated in the men's group This Man is You, and was the treasurer for Catholic Group "Ignited By Truth Catholic Conference."

Harold is survived by his wife Kitty, his brothers Vaughn and his wife Donna, his brother David and his wife Shereen. He is survived by his sister Janice, and his sister Mary and her husband Don Sedlacek, addition to numerous nephews and nieces.
