Monticello - Services were held at the Strong Hope Baptist church north of Montlcello for Mrs. Rosa Armstrong,, wife of Will Armstrong of the Tryus community in the northern part of Lawrence county. Mrs. Armstrong died at her home after an illness of some days.
Mrs. Armstrong was the mother of W. H. Armstrong, superintendent of the Georgetown High School and a former superintendent of the Newhebron High School in Lawrence county. She had for some years been a member of the Strong Hope Baptist church.
She leaves her husband; two sons, W. H. Armstrong of Georgetown and Byron Armstrong of the Tryus community and a daughter, Mrs. J. Carpenter of Copiah county; a number of grandchildren and other relatives.
