Wife of D T Marion

OBITUARY

Died at her home in Chickasaw county at 7 o'clock a.m. August 2nd, 1888, Mrs. Margaret Marion, wife of Mr. David Marion. After several months' suffering, she departed this life for the better world above. We mourn the loss of so good a friend and neighbor. She was a faithful member of the Presbyterian church; she has gone to meet her dear children and many relatives of whom we have often heard her speak, they departed years ago. Mourn not dear sister and brother, we know it is hard to give up such a kind and loving sister, but the Lord has called her and she must go, as we will all have to do when we are called from earth. She also leaves a daughter to mourn the loss of a kind and affectionate mother; weep not for her, but live in this world as you would wish to die so that when you are summoned to go you will be prepared to meet your darling mama at the golden gates of heaven where she will await your coming, where sorrow and parting never comes. She has left many friends; she is now at rest with her dear Savior, at rest from this sad world of trouble.

Thou art gone to the grave; we no longer behold thee,
Nor tread the dark paths of the world by thy side.
But the wide arms of mercy were spread to enfold thee,
Whose God was thy ransom, thy guardian, thy guide,
Thou art gone to the grave and its mansion forsaking,
Perhaps the weak spirit in fear lingered long,
But the Savior has passed through the portals before thee,
And the lamp of his love was thy guide through the gloom.
