Funeral services for James Bennett were Friday, January 8, at the Steckley Tracewell Funeral Home in Sweet Home, Oregon. Pastor B.J. Ellington officiated. Burial was at the Lewis Cemetery, Foster, Oregon.

Jim was born October 6, 1949 in Clinton, Custer county, Oklahoma and died January 6, 1993 in Lebanon, Oregon.

He moved as an infant with his family from Oklahoma to San Diego, Ca. He graduated from high school in Encinitas, Ca. and attended San Marcos Junior College for one year. He moved to Sweet Home in 1973 and attended Chemeketa Community College for one year.

As an infant, Jim suffered from infantile paralysis, but he never allowed that to hinder his life. He owned rental properties and was a property manager. He was an avid reader and enjoyed compiling data about ancient Biblical history. He was a Christian and a member of the First Baptist Church in Sweet Home.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. George Bennett, formerly of Colony, Ok. and Mr. and Mrs. L.H. Fullerton of Alfalfa, Ok.

Survivors include his parents, David and Wilda Bennett of Sweet Home and two sisters, Linda Hervig of San Diego, Ca., and Brenda Kuchenbecher of Wasilla, Alaska. He is also survived by many other relatives and friends.
