He married Anna Anderson and had 7 children; William, Phillip, Conrad, James, Mary, John 2nd, and Sarah Ann. He was a justice of the peace 1806 and 1809 from Saratoga and a member of the assembly from Saratoga County in 1816. He also acted as supervisor of Saratoga in 1816 with Henry Wagman as clerk and in 1821 with James Brisbin. Wagman, Brisbin and Cramer are all names in the ancestry of many descendants such as the Bacon Hill Pecks. In his will of August 1839 he includes restrictions on the portions to his sons Conrade and James because of their intemperate habits.
