ELLEN LORENE PAULSON, 80, formerly of Gorham, more recently of Derby, Ks., died Tuesday (April 1, 2008) at Wesley Medical Center in Wichita.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 A.M., Monday (April 7, 2008) at the First Congregational Church in Russell, Ks. Interment will be in the Prairie Lawn Cemetery in Gorham, Ks.

Ellen was born on April 6, 1927 in Clay Center, Ks., the daughter of Francis Lynn and Twila Mettie (Todd) Avery.

She married Marvin Charles Paulson on November 27, 1949 in Clay Center, Ks. They lived in Oketo, Ks. and Abilene, Ks. before moving to Gorham in September 1954. Marvin died on July 21, 2001.

Ellen had been a proof-reader for the Russell Daily News and the Russell Record. She had been a member of the Gorham Community Church.

Survivors include her son Charles Paulson and his wife Rebecca of Jones, Okla., one daughter Rosemary Moser of Wichita, Ks.; son-in-law Gale Hoover of Cheyenne Wells, Colo.; one brother Ralph Avery and his wife Irene of Buffalo, N.Y.; one sister Marilyn Habluetzel and her husband Howard of Clay Center, Ks.; a brother-in-law Benny Siebold of Green, Ks.; a sister-in-law Leora Werner of Overland Park, Ks.; 10 grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews.

She is preceded in death by her parents; husband; daughter Sharon Hoover; and sister Nelda Siebold.
