W. O. Wynn was born in Sweetons Cove, Tn. He was the son of James Monroe Wynne and Miss Beene, daughter of Obediah Beene and Barbara Heifner. After the death of his mother, his father moved to Panola Co, Tx. W. O. left home about 1857 (before his father died in 1859).
W. O. married first Malinda J Nabors after returning from serving in the Civil War on Jun 14, 1866 in Smith Co, Tx. They were the parents of 8 children.
After Malinda's death 30 Jun 1919, he married 2nd Elizabeth (Bettie) Wilson Fitzgerald Pimonton on 8 Nov 1919; then 3rd Lee/Bettie White and 4th 22 Nov 1927 to Amanda Robinson. Amanda was denied a Civil War widows pension because she hadn't been married to him long enough.
