Obituary, "The Standard-Press," St. Croix Falls, WI, 18 Sep 1957:MARY ALICE GREENLEE Mary Alice Greenlee (nee Hotchkiss), was born in Keokuk county, Iowa, on November 7th, 1877 and passed away on September 11, 1957, in St. Croix Falls, Wisconsin, at the age of 79 years 10 months and four days. She was the eldest daughter of Wolfred N. and Harriet E. Hotchkiss.In 1898, on December 21st, she was united in marriage to Frank Oliver Greenlee, who preceded her in death on January 15, 1948. To this union were born seven children.Mr. and Mrs. Greenlee made their home in Keokuk County, Iowa, until the spring of 1923, when the family moved to St. Croix Falls, Wisconsin, where they spent the remainder of their lives. In 1933 their grandson, Wayne, came to make his home with them.Early in her life she affiliated herself with the Christian Church of North English, Iowa, and also became a member of the Order of the Eastern Star, to both of which she was a faithful member, and was also active in the Past Matrons' Club.She leaves to mourn her passing, three sons and four daughters: Sons, Ardath Greenlee of Bloomer, Wis., Ralph Greenlee, of South St. Paul, Minn., Ufford Greenlee of St. Croix Falls., Wis.; daughters, Evelyn (Mrs. Joe Pellow) of Royal Oak, Mich., Vivian (Mrs. John Locy) of Royal Oak, Mich., Phyllis (Mrs. Carl Ostrom) of St. Croix Falls, Wis., Patricia (Mrs. Ingwer Hansen) of Hartley, Iowa; 16 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren; one sister, Lottie (Mrs. Fred Connelly) of Mason City, Iowa; two brothers, Hiram of South English, Iowa, and Fred of Clear Lake, Iowa. Two brothers preceded her in death.Funeral service was held Saturday, September 14th, from the Presbyterian church in this village, Rev. Glen Atchison officiating. Services were also conducted at the Christian Church in North English, Iowa, on Monday, with interment in the South English, Iowa cemetery. Casketbearers [WI] were Art Bishop, Joe Wade, Jim Beattie, George Schrap, Charles Thomas and Gib Greenquist.Obituary, "North English Record?", Sept. 1957:...identical to above through listing of survivors......Services were held Monday at North English Christian church with the Rev. Oscar Barrow in charge.Betty Thomas sang.
