Christianna (Herndon) Sayers was the daughter of John Henry and Georgianna (Tolson) Herndon.
In 1907, she married Benjamin Joseph Sayers in Prince William County, Virginia. They had five children: Robert Lee, Leone (Sayers) Franke, Benjamin Franklin, Kenneth William and Elmer Allen.
After her eldest child, Robert, was tragically killed by a train, she became severely depressed. She resided at the Massillon State Hospital for three years until her death in 1938.
She died from Pulmonary Tuberculosis.
