Bennie I. Higdon, 94, of Clarkson, died Feb. 24, 1985 at the Leitchfield Health Care Manor. / He was born October 10, 1890 in Grayson County, the son of Ignatius Higdon and Mary Sims Higdon. His wife, Silvia Edwards Higdon, survives. / He was a retired farmer and a member of the St. Anthony Catholic Church. / Other survivors include: four sons, Hartford Higdon of Leitchfield, Jodie Higdon of Louisville, Clint Higdon of Illinois, and Oral Higdon of Streator, Ill.; four daughters, Eunice Alvey of Leitchfield, Olita Hudron of Streator, Ill., Callie Meredith of Clarkson, and Cecillia Higdon of Juliet, Ill.; 36 grandchildren, 42 great grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild. / Funeral services were held Feb. 27, at the St. Anthony Catholic Church by the Rev. Raymond Goetz with interment in the St. Anthony Cemetery.
