OBITUARY OF ELIZA MILLER SNYDER
Eliza Miller, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Johnathan Miller
was born in Somerset County, Pa., on January 6, 1828; died November 17, 1915. Age 87 years, 10 month and 11 days.

On March 28, 1847, she was married to Daniel Snyder who preceded her in death on March 4, 1891, almost a quarter
of a century ago.

To this wedded union eight children were born, three of whom, two daughter, and one son, have long since passed to the great beyond.

Five sons are present here today to mourn their loss of a sainted mother. They are in the order of their
ages: Jacob D., of Sabetha, Kansas; Simon P., at whose home she has lived among loved ones for twenty years, or more; John W. and Martin L., of Ada, Iowa; and Francis D., of
Galesburg, Kansas. There are twenty-six grand children
and fifteen great-grandchildren.

Early in years she consecrated her life to Christ and
united with the Evangelical Lutheran Church. Thru all the long years far exceeding the [Biblical three-score and ten, her faith in Christ never wavered, and she loved her church with an admirable devotion.

The old family Bible, yellow and folded show where the fingers aided the failing sight in passing along the
lines she loved to read and which sustained, her faith and strengthened her zeal.

In her yearly years she was a pioneer in Christian service and community uplift;, and no difficulties or obstacles could arise to prevent the performance of her Christian duties.

In her life the three-fold nature of man--the physical, mental and spiritual, were strongly in evidence, and
continued unbroken to the end when the Master Workman touched the vital organ of life and it was still.

Thus ends a long and noble career.
Often was the way hard and the days dark and sorrowful; yet amid the gloom or the sunshine, her noble personality maintained its beautiful poise, and its influence, strong, steady and uplifting will continue unabated down through
the coming years.

CARD OF THANKS
To all who so kindly and lovingly assisted and comforted us in the sorrowing hour of the death and burial of our
beloved mother and grandmother, we hereby express our heartfelt thanks.

S.P. Snyder and family.
