Born Bessie Annabell Howarth on October 31, 1876 in Spring Creek Precinct Cook Village, Johnson County, Nebraska, USA to Henry Harry Howarth (1844, 1890) and Rebecca Jane Sission Howarth (1848, 1917).

Sometime between 1880 and 1885, after Bessie reached 4 years old but before she reached 9 years old, her family moved to Tecumseh, Johnson County, Nebraska, USA.

At the age of 13 years & 11 months, Bessie's father, Henry Harry Howarth, passed on October 8, 1890, (apparently in Saint Louis, Missouri, USA). At the age of 17, in 1883, Bessie Howarth married Worthy E Goodman in Nebraska, USA.

The new families first child, son Thomas Henry Goodman, was born in Tecumseh, Johnson county, Nebraska, on August 29, 1895. Daughter Jessie Onnetta Fay Howarth followed on November 23, 1897. In October, 1899, son Raymond E Howarth was born in Nebraska.

At the turn of the century, (e.g. 1900), the family resided in Nemaha Precinct, Tecumseh, Johnson, Nebraska, USA. In 1908, at the age of 32, Bessie's 2nd daughter, Bessie May Goodman, was born.

Bessie and her family arrived in South Dakota in 1909. By 1910 the family had settled in Cambria, Brown County, South Dakota, USA.

Soon after, her mother-in-law, Phoebe Goodman, passed in 1911 in Nebraska. On January 25, 1916, her father-in-law, Thomas Goodman, passed in Joplin, Jasper County, Missouri. In 1916, at the age of 40, Bessie's youngest child, son Russell Goodman, was born in Groton, Brown, South Dakota.

On August 15, 1917, oldest daughter Jessie O Fay Goodman (20) married Harry D Gilchrist. On November 2, 1917, Bessie's mother, Rebecca Jane {Sisson} Howarth, passed in Nebraska.

After 1920, Bessie and family continued to reside in Cambria, Brown County, South Dakota.

In 1923, Bessie's 2nd daughter, Bessie May Goodman (age 15), married ? Baustita. The couple delivered a son / gandson, Wayne Eugene Baustita, on September 11, 1923.

On April 6, 1925, Bessie's 2nd daughter, Bessie May {Goodman} Baustita, passed in Hand County, South Dakota. Their son, Wayne E Baustita (2), came immediately to live with his grand parents.

His grandmother was 49 years old at the time. Her oldest daughter, Jessie O Fay {Goodman} Gilchrist, while living in Brown County at the time, was also the mother of four children; ages 8, 6, 3 and 0 years old. . .

While the 1925 SD state census lists Wayne's surname as 'Baustita', by the 1930 US census and after, Wayne's surname was changed to 'Goodman'. A 1940 US census record indicates grandson, Wayne E Goodman (15), was living with Bessie and Worthy in Cambria, Brown, South Dakota.

Bessie Annabell {Howarth} Goodman passed around September 4, 1947. Her Final Resting Place is unknown at this time.
