HAWTHORNE - J. Robert Allwood, 68, died Tuesday. Before retiring in 1982, he was a machinist for the Curtiss-Wright Corp., Wood-Ridge. He was a parishion of the Hawthorne United Methodist Church. He was a member of the Irvington Masonic Lodge.

Surviving are a son, J. Robert Jr. of West Milford, and three grandchildren. His wife, Florence Nightingale Allwood, died in 1984.

Services are scheduled for 10:30 a.m., today, at the Brown- ing-Forshay Funeral Home, Hawthorne, with burial in Laurel Grove Memorial Park, Totowa.
