Mrs. Temple Dies At Age Of 102

Mrs. Cora Belle Warlick Temple, believed to be Burke County’s oldest resident, died recently at the age of 102.
Her son, B. L. Temple, worked for The Robesonian for many years. He died in Marietta, North Carolina on January 8, 1970.

Prior to the last year or two, Mrs. Temple had been very active. She was well-known in her Community as a homemaker, Mother, practical doctor and nurse, good neighbor, and citizen.

At the time of her 100th birth day, Mrs Temple was still keeping up with the modern world by reading newspapers and magazines, watching TV and listening to the radio.
She did a lot of canning of fruits, vegetables, and meats. At the age of ten, she made her first dress. She even made her own wedding dress.

Mrs. Temple also enjoyed piecing quits. She won numerous prizes in county, state, and world fairs.
