Jessie Childress Stewardson went to be with Jimmy on Thursday, March 7, 2024. She was preceded in death by her parents, Lena and Holman Childress; her husband, James "Jimmy" Stewardson, five sisters and five brothers. She is survived by her devoted daughter, Linda Hart and devoted son in law, Johnny; grandson, Ashton Hart (Joy); great grandchildren, Penelope (Poppy) and Alden Hart; step-children Carrie Stewardson, Chris Stewardson (Jenn) and Mary Beth Marion (Jim); step-grandchildren Joshua Parker, Deanna Stewardson and Cameron Stewardson; her sisters, Francis Nuckols and Susie Grant. The family would like to personally thank Robin Atkins for her care during this time. Jessie loved her family and her many special friends. She will be missed. The family will receive friends on Monday, March 11, 2024 from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. and 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the West Chapel of Bennett Funeral Home, 11020 West Broad Street in Glen Allen. Jessie's funeral ceremony will be on Tuesday, March 12, 2024 at 11:00 a.m. in the funeral home chapel. Burial will follow in Berea Baptist Church Cemetery, 15421 Pouncey Tract Rd, Rockville VA 23146. In lieu of flowers the family suggests memorial contributions be made to Goochland Baptist Church, 2454 Manakin Road, Manakin Sabot, VA 23103.
