Alexander M. Ransbottom, 87, retired farmer, 224 South Echo Street, died Tuesday morning at Gibbons Hospital. He had been in failing health for some time and had undergone major surgery last Friday. Mr. Alexander was a native of Allen County. The deceased was married twice, his first wife, the mother of his six children, died 18 years ago. His six children are: Charles, Opal Rhodes Ford, Floyd and Myrtle Andrews; Effie and William are deceased. Surviving is his widow, Sadie Calton Ransbottom; four children, Mrs. Fannie Granger and Cliff Ransbottom of Rockford; Edward Ransbottom of Saskatchewan, Canada, and Mrs. Clarence Baucher of Celina; 18 grandchildren and 22 great-grandchildren. Funeral will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday at Beaver Chapel Church, with the Rev. Gerald Martin officiating. Burial will be made in Swamp College Cemetery.
