1973: Obituary: BUD DAVIS: Bud Davis, 65, 800 7th Ave., South Sioux City, died Tuesday at a Sioux City hospital after a long illness. Funeral services will be a 2 p.m. today at the Jack Becker Funeral Home with the Rev. Curtis F. Trenhaile, pastor of the Dakota City United Methodist Church, officiating. Burial will be in the Dakota cemetery. Pallbearers will be William Church Sr., R.W. "Andy" Anderson, Allen Becker, Robert Hirsh, Gene Cochran and John Bateman. Mr. Davis was born Jun 19, 1907, at Walthill, Neb., and resided in Dakota and Thurston counties all of his life. He married Esther L. Cornelius on Dec 3, 1927, at Sioux City. She died Sept 25, 1967, in Sioux City. He married Eva A. Cliff on Dec 20, 1968, in South Sioux City. Mr. Davis was employed by Armour Co. of Sioux City for 35 years and by Soo Tractor Co. in Sioux City for six years before retiring in 1972. Survivors include the widow; a daughter, Mrs. Rhoda Church of Sioux City; a son, Lester L. Davis; four grandchildren; a sister, Mrs. Harriet Taylor of Brandon, S.D., and a brother, Everett Davis Sr. of South Sioux City.
