Hansford Minner, 77, of Bucyrus, died Friday, April 15, 2011 at Lexington Court Care. Born September 27, 1933 in Brounland, West Virginia, he was the son of Thomas D. and Mollie Marie Chandler Minner. He had worked in Muncie, Indiana at the steel mill for 15 ½ years until he became ill and was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints in Galion, Ohio. He enjoyed reading Bible Scriptures and listening to Gospel music and cooking for his family, especially peanut butter fudge.


He is survived by his wife, Margaret Messer Minner whom he married in 1962; a son, Frankie Ellen Minner of Ripley, Ohio; five daughters, Rhonda George Cote of Morgan City, Louisiana, Shellie Minner of Delaware State, Tammie George Rowe of Kentucky, Kimberly Young of West Virginia and Sheila Hank Stokes of Tennessee; a step daughter, Robin Jeff Sturgess of Columbus, Ohio; 21 grandchildren and 17 great grandchildren; a brother, James Ruth Ann Minner of Indiana; and three sisters, Orpha George Eskew, Barbra Holstine and Judith Holstine all of West Virginia. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Jerry Minner and a sister Shirley Minner.
