Funeral services for Elton L. (Jack) Mason, 84, of Rockdale will be held 3:30 p.m. Thursday, May 1, 2008, in Greenwood Chapel in Fort Worth. Burial will be at 3 p.m. Friday, May 2, at Sand Grove Cemetery in Milam County.
Visitation was scheduled for 5-8 p.m. Wednesday, April 30, at Greenwood Funeral Home in Fort Worth.
Mr. Mason died Sunday, April 27, 2008.
He was born Dec. 27, 1923, in Rockdale.
Mr. Mason was a 21-year veteran of the U.S. Army and Air Force and served in World War II. He received a Purple Heart for injuries received during the Battle of the Buldge.
He also worked for 28 years as a technical writer of manuals for LTV and Flight Safety International and an additional three years for contract companies.
Mr. Mason was a member of Fossil Creek Church of Christ.
Survivors are his wife, Kate Mason; son, Alan Mason and three grandchildren, Matthew, Sharla and Henry Mason.
