son/J.M. & A.L. Aker

Jefferson Mitchell Aker, a blacksmith, and Alverta Louise Painter Aker were in Wythe Co., VA in 1871 then Sevier Co., TN for about 10 years before relocating to Texas. The 1900 census lists them as having had 8 children with 6 still living. All six lived to have families of their own. 2 children, Adah & Edgar, died very young and are buried in Shiloh Cemetery. Their burials were found in the book "In The Shadow of the Smokies, Sevier County Cemeteries" from the Smokey Mountain Historical Society. I do not know whether the children's dates and parents initials came from tombstones or cemetery records.
