Joseph D Robertson was appointed Postmaster of the Barrington Post Office May 28, 1920. September 1, 1929 Joe Robertson moved the post office from 117 Cook on the Cook County side of Barrington to larger quarters on the Lake County side at North Hough and Applebee Streets. That was the first time in 75 years that the post office of the village was out of the Cook County side.
