Dorothy was born on March 21, 1916 to Anna J. (Cedargren) and William Z. Albee on a farm in Antelope Valley north of Oshkosh NE. One of eight children, she lived on the farm until 1937 when she married Jon Pierce. Together they had one son, Merlin T. Pierce. World War 11 brought many changes, including a dissolution of her marriage and a move to California where she manufactured telephones to help with the war effort.

After the war, she married a fellow Nebraskan whom she met at a dance in Lisco, NE. Jack B. Wilkinson, from Broadwater. They settled in Southern California and had three children. Together, they built their first home, and later established a successful business selling construction materials to the mobile home industry for 20 years. Upon retirement, they enjoyed traveling the United States, golfing, gardening, and especially spending time with their family and friends. They had 50 wonderful years together.

Dorothy was a hard worker but she also took time to enjoy life. She loved music and played both the piano and organ. She also liked to crochet and made many well loved baby blankets and afghans for her family.

She is survived by two daughters, Gail Wilkinson of Oakland, CA and Diane Wilkinson of Palm Springs, CA. and a son, Alan Wilkinson of Sidney, NE; her nine grandchildren, fifteen great grandchildren, and two great great¬ grandchildren; a sister, Grace Polk of Oshkosh, NE and a brother, Dr. A.B. Albee of Lewellen, NE, and many nieces and nephews.

She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband Jack, her son Merlin, 3 brothers and 2 sisters.

The family wishes to extend a special thank you to the staff of Memorial Health Center Extended Care for providing excellent care to our beloved mother.
