Carl William Bodner was born on May 18, 1925 in Marion Co., Kentucky. He was the son of Adolph J. Bodner (1881-1954) and Maggie Lunsford (1889-1929), both buried in Buffalo Springs Cemetery in Stanford, Lincoln Co., KY.

Carl's father, Adolph, was the son of Thomas Bodner (1849-1930) and Anna Prunster (1855-1930). Adolph, as well as his parents, were immigrants from Carthia, Austria (Germanic), arriving in America in 1886.

On Feb. 9, 1946, in Perryville, Boyle Co., KY, Carl married Margie Lee Cannon (1927- ) in Perryville, Boyle Co., KY. He was 20 years of age, she 19. She was the daughter of Jesse James "Jess" Cannon (1898-1954) and Mary Adline "Susie" Schlachter (1900-1998), both buried in the Junction City Cemetery. Carl and Margie were married for 62 years and had two children, Darlen and Carla.

Carl died on Apr. 26, 2008 in the Beaumont Hospital in Oakland, Macomb Co., Michigan, at the age of 82. His body was transported back to Kentucky where he is buried in the Junction City Cemetery in Junction City, Boyle Co., KY. His wife, Margie, is buried next to him and share the same headstone.

Age 82, a resident of Utica formerly of Hazel Park, died April 26, 2008 at William Beaumont Hospital, Troy. He was a member of Evanswood Church of God, Troy, where he was an Usher. He worked for Cape Industrial Company for 20 years retiring in 1987.

Survived by his wife Margie whom he married 2/9/1946 in Perryville, KY. Daughters Carla (Richard) Smith, Darlene (Ken) Wolff. 2 granddaughters; Breanne and Kaleana (David) LeGrand. sister, Frannie Steinhauer & brother, Howard. he was preceded in death by his parents, Adolph and Maggie, brothers James and Leo, and sister, Lucille Walker.
