OBITUARY:
Mildred Whitlock, 77, of Kennett, died Saturday, June 21, 2003, at her residence.
Born Jan 30, 1926, in Willow Springs, Mo., she was the daughter of the late George and Minnie Sharp Gordon.
On Nov. 10, 1944, she married Elmer Whitlock, who preceded her in death on Sept. 5, 1981. She was also preceded in death by one son, James Whitlock, and one daughter, Ellen Palmer; two brothers, Robert and George Gordon and three grandchildren.
Survivors include one son, Jerry Whitlock, of Kennett; three daughters, Judy Wright and Jeannie Whitlock, both of Kennett and Sherry Hopper, of Holcomb, Mo; five brothers, Walter Gordon, of Chaffee, Mo., Milton Gordon, of Doniphan, Mo., Delmer Gordon, of Peace Valley, Mo., and Everett and Doyle Gordon, both of Folley, Mo.; one sister, Goldie Whitlock, of Mountain View, Mo; 15 grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Monday, June 23, at the McDaniel Funeral Home Chapel in Kennett with the Rev. Tony Wood officiating.
Burial was in the Oak Ridge Cemetery at Kennett.
Pallbearers were Chris Palmer, Jerry, Randy, Greg and Jamie Wright, and Matt and Daniel Utley.ren.
