Lived at the "Old Brown Homestead", Muddy Pond, Tennessee. Married to Ellen(also recorded as Elam and Ealon)Key and Lenora Doug (sp?). Father of three children: Clarsie, J. Harlie and Lenorie. His daughter Clarsie died when she was 25 and left four girls without a mother. He was a pivotal part of the girls' lives, especially that of my great-grandmother, Livvie Bilbrey McCowan.

Both of Levi's wives died very young and he never married again, having only the three children.
