Departed this life on Tuesday, February 5, 1884, at his residence in Colorado
county, Texas, Henry Simpson Abell, after an illness of eight days. Mr. Abell
was born in Colorado county September 21, 1847, and has resided here ever since.
His father, the late Col. J. C. Abell, was an old and prominent citizen of
Texas, coming to the State at an early day from Maryland. The deceased was
married to Anna Kuykendall in June, 1877, who, with two children, survives him.
He was a kind, generous, openhearted friend and neighbor, and a large circle of
friends and relatives mourn his early demise. The loss to the widow and orphans
is irreparable.
