Catherine (Poffenbarger) Goldsmith, 86, Anderson, died April 28, 2008, at ManorCare after a very brief illness.
She was born Sept. 3, 1921, in Madison County, and was a lifelong Anderson and Middletown resident. She was employed in production at Delco Remy for 30 years before retiring in 1983.
She was a member of Lone Oak Wesleyan Church. She loved her family and her cats, Booger and Bear.
Survivors include a son, Larry R. (Pat) Clem of Ocean Springs, Miss.; daughter, Mary Ann (Jake) Garrett of Anderson; stepson, Mike (Carolyn) Goldsmith of Anderson; three grandchildren, Lisa (David) Lawson and Troy (Tammy) Garrett, all of Alexandria, and Travis (Jenny) Garrett of New Palestine; eight great-grandchildren, Zachary Cummins, Katie Cummins, Frank Garrett and Josie Garrett, all of Alexandria, Kennedy Jade Garrett and Phoenix Cantrell Garrett, both of New Palestine, and Ashley Tomlinson and Jakob Lawson, both of Anderson; two great-great-grandsons, Ashtin Martin of Alexandria and Colt Baldwin of Frankton; five stepgrandchildren; several step-great grandchildren; and several special nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, John and Retta (Jordan) Poffenbarger; first husband, Donald Clem; second husband, Frank W. Goldsmith Jr.; three brothers, George, Warren and John Poffenbarger; and two sisters, Thelma Rathbun and Martha Ellison.
Services will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday at Rozelle-Johnson Funeral Service with the Rev. Bill Thompson officiating. Burial will be in East Maplewood Cemetery.
