Helen Folds Aspey of Belle Glade, FL passed away on August 18, 2007 at age 74. She was born August 31, 1932 in Jacksonville, FL, the daughter of Allison E. Folds, Sr. and Edna Booth Folds. The family moved to Gainesville, FL in 1942, and Helen graduated from Gainesville High School in 1950 after which she attended Florida State University. She graduated from Florida State University in 1954 and was a member of ALPHA CHI OMEGA sorority. She received her Masters of Science degree from Nova University.
She leaves to cherish her memory son, Robert B. Wester, Jr. (Nancy) of Royal Palm Beach, FL; daughters, Sheryl W. Shaw of Gainesville, FL, Lee W. Morgan (Jetson) of Leesburg, FL; Grandchildren, Trey Shaw (Rocio) of Gainesville, Keith Shaw of Gainesville, Robbie and Krystal Wester, Royal Palm Beach, Allie and Jarrett Morgan, Leesburg; Great-grandchildren, George and Trey of Gainesville; and her brother, Allison E. Folds, Jr. (Jackie) of Gainesville. She was preceded in death by her Husband William T Aspey in 2006 and her son Richard (Steven) Wester 1976.
Helen began teaching at Littlewood Elementary in Gainesville, FL and completed her 30-year career in education in Palm Beach County (West Area Math Specialist). She was an active member of Seminole Boosters and joined PHI DELTA KAPPA on March 22, 1986. She was also a member of Beta Sigma Phi and was president 1994-96 of FLORIDA LAUREATE GAMMA ZETA PL 1708. She was also an active member of and served as Worthy Matron of BELLE GLADE CHAPTER #196 ORDER OF EASTERN STAR. She was a member of Community United Methodist Church of Belle Glade.
Visitation will take place Tuesday August 21, 2007 from 6-9 PM at Glades Funeral Chapel, 1040 North Main St., Belle Glade, FL. Funeral Services will be held Wednesday August 22, 2007 at 10:00 AM. Entombment will follow at Foreverglades Mausoleum.
