After the death of her first husband, she married Thomas Polmanteer on 6 May 1872 in Colusa, California. They had two children. She was listed as half Cherokee on the 1910 Indian population census in Redding, California. E. A. (Oxendine) Slaughter Polmanteer died on 31 May 1915 in Redding, California.
