From the 1899 US military pension application by Valentine Schick (AKA Volney Bluejacket), the information is that his second wife's name was "Alice Long." This name, Alice Long, is further corroborated by the marriage index of the State of Michigan for the July 29, 1902, marriage of their son, Jacob Schick, which indicates that his father was Valentine Schick and his mother was Alice Long.
Father was W.H.Long of Missouri whom mother Eliza married in 1858.
