Joseph Plefka, 78, passed away Friday, June 25, 1999.
He was born in St. Clair, Pa., and retired from Goodyear Aerospace in 1983 with 30 years service. Joseph was a member of St. Nicholas Orthodox Church, had served on the church board and as assistant cemetery secretary. He was a member of the R.B.O. and O.S.A., Goodyear 25-Year Club and Retirees, V.F.W. Post 1066, and the 1st Marine Division Association. Joseph was a veteran of the Marines, serving with the 1st Division Aviation Engineers Battalion in the South Pacific during World War II.
Mr. Plefka is survived by his wife of 53 years, Anna; daughters, MaryAnne (William Weir) Plefka-Weir of Sacramento, Calif., Teresa (James Petroski) Plefka-Petroski of Akron; sons, Michael J. (Victoria) of Sacramento, Calif., Joseph H. of Barberton; brother, George of Riverside, Calif.; sister, Elizabeth Tracey of Cressona, Pa.; grandchildren, Catherine, Alexander, Elena, Nicholas, and Alexander.
